Savoia Square

The proposed itineraries intend to bring to life the city of Turin in all its multi-faceted aspects. We don’t aim to tell you here about everything you’ll encounter while strolling. Instead, we hope to introduce to you the city’s best shops and the most fascinating street vendors that are an integral part of the city. Refer to the maps at the beginning of this section – the routes are indicated with blue guidelines – and the photographs and you will feel like you’re visiting Turin right in your own home.

We begin in Piazza Savoia, which hosts the Paoline Bookshops (books, CDs, DVDs for adults, adolescente and children, photos, religious articles and more) and the pizzeria/restaurant
Regina Margherita, with its seating overlooking the square…buon appetito and enjoy the view! From the piazza, along Via della Consolata, you will find, in a few minutes, one of the most fascinating corners in Turin, especially in the evening. There is the sanctuary of the Consolata Basilica ( http://www.laconsolata.org/), a real masterpiece, just like the small piazza adjacent to it, where you will find the historic Bicerin cafe, in which you can sample the sweet, warm drink of the same name in an unforgettable atmosphere. ( http://www.bicerin.it/). A few meters away, we suggest noting a shop that will catch your attention: the old Rosa Serafino herbs store, founded in 1875. Personally, I adore herbalists, their products and the antique tools that characterize them! In the same piazza you’ll find the Venetian restaurant, Il Bacaro, and next to it, a lovely sight – especially a night – of undeniable allure, the Vicolo della Consolata.
